Craig Haptonstall

President and CEO

Craig Hatponstall is a results-oriented facilitator, trainer and public speaker. Through customized organizational assessments, workshops, coaching and seminars, he teaches people to enhance their relationship capabilities and helps organizations increase profitability and gain competitive advantage.

Craig has the exceptional facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills to drive successful learning outcomes. His personal characteristics include high energy, optimism and emphasis on collaboration. He has expertise in identifying and clarifying values, articulating vision and developing strategies that support corporate culture and drive performance.

In 1984, Craig earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. His career has included Southwest Airlines, The Tom Peters Company and The Staubach Company. He has earned certifications in DISC and challenge course. He has experience with a wide variety of assessment tools.

In addition to being a dynamic speaker and trainer, Craig is a private pilot. He and his wife Mildred live in Dallas, Texas.

Tom Pearce

President of the Public Programs Division

Tom Pearce is the President the Leadership Mechanics Public Programs Division.  He has worked around the world carrying out his mission of developing stronger, more versatile leaders at all levels of the organizations he serves.  He is the former Vice President of ARCO China where he supervised 25 people and managed a budget of $8 million.  He has also been on assignment in Indonesia, London, and Dubai.  

Tom was recently recognized in Executive Excellence Magazine for the third consecutive year as being one of the top leadership development experts in the country.  His experience with leadership development, team building and executive coaching within Mobil, Nortel, Blockbuster, Texas Industries and the Environmental Protection Agency have earned him that reputation.

Tom’s experience with the Leadership Challenge goes back to 2008 when he attended a public workshop.  Since that time he has been working closely with Craig Haptonstall to build the public programs division, co-facilitating and coaching participants upon program completion.

Mr. Pearce is a noted author, speaker, and trainer.  Over the past several years, Tom has worked with leaders and teams in venues ranging from Las Vegas to Kuala Lumpur to Trinidad & Tabago.   Mr. Pearce has an MBA from Duke University in North Carolina and undergraduate degree in Communications from William and Mary.  He is active in his community through board leadership on The Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney and Serenity High, a special high school for youth recovering from drug addiction.  Tom is married and has two teenage children.

Mason Chock

Executive Director

The Executive Director of Leadership Kaua`i, Mason Chock is a Kamehameha schools graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in business.  He has worked in education and public service for 16 years and has created many community programs. As a program coordinator with Na Pua Noeau, Mason has implemented many events and projects serving Kaua`i children.  As the former Executive Director of the Native Hawaiian Education Association, Mason has coordinated and moderated numerous trainings by facilitating strategic planning processes . He is the owner of Kaua`i Team Challenge, an outdoor experiential education program, specializing in adventure based therapy, team building and self-awareness. Through partnership with The Waipa Foundation, KTC administers programs such as, the Kukui Malamalama, Mentoring Children of Kaua`i Program, Waipa Adventure Expeditions, the East Family Ohana Club, and The Fatherhood Program, Ka Ulu Pono, Pi`ina Hoku, and The Leadership Development Program which Mason has been responsible for creating and implementing. As a consultant for Native Hawaiian Consulting, Mason delivers customized leadership corporate trainings covering topics such as Creating a positive work culture, Coaching young people for success, Lifeskills building, CPR certification, Goal setting strategies, Building a value based company, and Building your teams capacity.


Mason facilitates the progress of Leadership Kaua’i’s annual class.  As a moderator of Leadership Kaua`i training sessions, Mason connects local and national speakers and initiatives to Kaua’i’s culture and needs.  Utilizing interactive team building activities Mason bridges contrasting communication skills, cross-cultural experiences and perspectives to create a shared vision for the direction of Leadership Kaua`i.

Jina Daigle

Professional Counselor and Coach

Jina Daigle is Professional Counselor and Coach with a Masters degree in Applied Behavioral Studies. She utilizes an experiential model in her work with businesses and individuals.

Jina works with corporations, small businesses, schools and non-profits doing management/leadership training, teambuilding events, retreats, and meeting facilitation nationally and internationally. She is owner and founder of Creative Team Solutions. In her practice, she uses an experiential approach as she works with teams, leaders and individuals who wish to take their best to the next level!

Process and Tools: Jina customizes her work with every client to insure that the program, process and objectives will allow the client to move quickly toward the results they are wanting. Her numerous years of experience, knowledge and skills help create programs that are learning oriented within a fun and energetic atmosphere.

She utilizes popular and easily applicable tools such as:

  • DiSC (online behavior style inventory): Gain personal awareness, ability to better understand, communicate with, and get results from others.
  • Team Surveys (online team survey for intact teams): Gain insight into how team members perceive team needs and strengths and be able to create team development solutions based on results.

Group events can run from half-day programs to multi-day retreats.
One-on-one coaching for growth is customized to individual needs.
